The name of my IST patrol is Sanzoku no Musume Rōnya. It is Japanese (of course) and means Ronia the Robber’s Daughter. That is also the name of the protagonist in the Swedish novel by the same name, Ronja Rövardotter. The novel is written by Astrid Lindgren and has recently been adopted into a computer-animated anime.
My patrol decided on the name because it’s a famous Swedish novel made into a Japanese anime, a clear connection between Sweden and Japan! It also gives us an icebreaker to use at the camp, some sort of common ground. We Swedes have a very good knowledge about the content while the Japanese (probably) have a very significant knowledge about the media type and it’s execution.
